Security package

DFI-GEISLER SECURITY PACKAGE

An Security package is a service which includes measuring up and fitting worktops.
Worktops are an important element of your new kitchen, and we would like to ensure that you are fully familiar with our Security package. This leaflet explains how an Security package works.
Your kitchen units must be in place before we can start. A qualified fitter will then visit you to take measurements for your new worktops (only applies to Security package 1).
Once the measurements have been checked, your worktops will be manufactured according to our measurements. After 10 to 12 working days*, our fitter will return to install the worktops that are custom-built for your kitchen.

*) Subject to availability of special order items, steel orders and production capacity. Longer delivery times must also be expected during peak periods such as holiday periods.

TOLERANCES

In line with the Security package, your worktop will be manufactured according to the specific measurements of your kitchen. There will always be a certain tolerance range, e.g. measurement tolerances (notably in stone products) and deviations in colour and structure.
MEASUREMENT TOLERANCES
As the manufacturer of your worktops, we comply with the tolerances below for measurement, production and fitting of your worktop:
• Worktops +/– 2 mm
• Overhang at doors +/– 2 mm
• Overhang at gable +/– 2 mm
• Position of sink +/– 2 mm
• Position of hob +/– 2 mm
• Cut-out sections +/– 2 mm
• Joint widths 5 mm +/– 2 mm

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING COMPLETED FITTING

Once we have finished fitting and sealing (if this was ordered) the worktops, we will send a completion report to the dealer and the customer, if an email address has been provided.
The fitting is then regarded as approved. If there are any comments about the fitting, these must be submitted to us within three working days.

MEASURING UP AND FITTING

YOUR NEW WORKTOPS

STEP 1: INITIAL INFORMATION

Once you have ordered your new kitchen with worktops, including the Security package, we will send you an email with details of the store that expects to measure up your kitchen.

STEP 2BOOKING AN APPOINTMENT FOR MEASURING UP

Approximately five working days before our colleague visits to measure up, you will be informed by telephone of the precise date for the visit. We give four-hour time slots.
For example, we could specify that we will visit between 9.00 am and 1.00 pm.
You should let us know when we call whether you would like the fitter to contact you before they arrive. Once we have agreed on a time for measuring up, you will receive a confirmation by email.

STEP 3: HOW SHOULD YOU PREPARE?

To enable our fitter to make correct measurements, it is important that all units, including any additional side panels, are fixed in place. The first thing the fitter will do is to check that the units have been correctly installed with a maximum tolerance of 2 mm. Units must be level and in a straight line at the front edge. An Security package includes measuring up and fitting of worktops and any splash panels and, therefore, does not include any shelves, etc.

STEP 4: MEASURING UP

If, when measuring up, the fitter discovers cut-out sections, changes to worktop depths, etc. which alter the worktop price you were given by the store, the store will be informed of this and update your price.
The fitter will also assess whether it is possible to get the finished worktop into your home. If access is difficult and it is deemed necessary to use a crane or additional movers to bring in the worktop or to mount it – for example, due to its size or weight – the actual costs will be added to the price as an additional charge.

STEP 5: BOOKING A FITTING DAY

After the kitchen units have been measured up, the worktops will be put into production. Approximately 10 to 12 working days* after the measurements have been taken, your worktops will be ready for fitting.
Approximately five working days before fitting, you will again be contacted by telephone to arrange a precise date and time for fitting.
*) Subject to availability of special order items, steel orders and production capacity. Longer delivery times must also be expected during peak periods such as holiday periods.

STEP 6: FITTING

We usually send two fitters. The first thing they will do is check the worktops to ensure that there is no transport damage. They will then fit the worktops, including joints at end and rear edges, provided that the walls are ready for this. We always use either black, white or grey joint filler. The fitter will also flush-mount the hob if you order this.
NB: The fitter does not connect water or electricity.
Once the worktops are in place, they will be wiped clean and the fitter will perform a final inspection of the worktops and fitting. It is very important to remember to cover your floors, since our fitters wear safety footwear for safety reasons. Floor cover must be firmly secured and non-skid.
