What are ceramic and Dekton\u00ae?<\/h4>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]A ceramic worktop consists of sand, feldspar and clay with added pigments.\u00a0This mineral mix is poured into a mould and heated to 1200 degrees, resulting in a wealth of attractive features.<\/p>\n

Dekton\u00ae achieves the same properties through an advanced technique, where mineral particles is mixed in a matter of hours, to perform the same process that in nature takes thousands of years. Both ceramic and Dekton\u00ae have their beautiful colours and patterns applied as a direct and colourfast print.<\/p>\n

Dekton\u00ae and ceramic are both very hard and resistant materials, but the surfaces can be scratched.<\/p>\n

Dekton\u00ae and ceramic worktops with glossy surfaces are visually comparable to the glass surfaces of a hob. There will be minor visible scratches. To avoid scratches, do not drag objects across worktops with a glossy surface<\/p>\n

Thicknesses<\/h4>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]A standard DFI-Geisler ceramic worktop is 12 or 20 mm thick. However, you can order a 20 mm, 30 mm or 40 mm worktop, if this is a better match for your kitchen design.
\nDekton\u00ae comes standard in 20 mm thickness, but is also available in 12 mm thickness – or 4 mm for use as a splashback.<\/p>\n

Daily use<\/h4>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]You simply won’t find easier and more robust worktops for your kitchen than ceramic and Dekton\u00ae. Both products have a wide range of properties, that make them incredibly comfortable to work with in your daily kitchen life.<\/p>\n

The slabs are virtually non-absorbent. In other words, you can spill anything – and simply wipe it up with a wrung-out cloth and any necessary cleaning agents.<\/p>\n

Dekton\u00ae\u00a0and ceramics are very hard materials, but the surfaces can be scratched. For example, if a quartz grain gets between the worktop and a pot that is dragged across the worktop.<\/p>\n

Traditionally, scratches do not appear in matt and textured surfaces. In glossy and smooth surfaces, even minor wear scratches are visible.<\/p>\n

Ceramics and Dekton\u00ae are both highly heat tolerant. Ceramics can withstand temperatures up to 250\u00b0 C. However, we always recommend using trivets.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/3″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Colours and textures<\/h4>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]There are more than ten stunning colours to choose from when selecting your ceramic worktop. All are UV-resistant and, therefore, won’t fade in sunlight. Dekton\u00ae is available in more than 60 UV-resistant colours and patterns, from plain worktops to striking textures that give an appearance of natural stone such as marble.<\/p>\n

Fitting the sink<\/h4>\n
