UN GLOBALS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Climate change, overuse of resources, increasing volumes of waste, etc. create a burden on our planet. In 2015, the UN adopted 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to set a course up to 2030 towards more sustainable development for people and the planet we inhabit. All countries have signed up to support the UN SDGs.<\/span><\/h5>\n

We support many of the SDGs through our targeted efforts to create sustainable worktops, a healthy workplace and decent working conditions throughout the value chain. All of the SDGs are important. However, we focus on the areas where we can achieve the best possible results.<\/span><\/h5>\n

FOCUS ON FOUR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Overall goal: Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all.<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n
Our staff of more than 220 employees are our most important asset, and therefore we take good care of them. To make sure that we do this well enough, we participate in the world\u2019s most widely used employee satisfaction survey: Great Place to Work.<\/span><\/h5>\n
At the same time, health, well-being and safety at work are constantly in the spotlight. One good example of this is our use of OfficeFit, a fitness programme that gives office workers access to a variety of ergonomic equipment, such as office bikes.<\/span><\/h5>\n

Overall goal: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n
In order to be able to manufacture our worktops as responsibly as possible, we constantly make an effort to minimise our energy consumption, our water consumption and our waste.

Today, the power we use throughout the factory is 100% green, and more than 80% of the water we use in our stone worktop manufacturing process is purified and recycled.<\/span><\/h5>\n
We have also made the change to LED lighting in production areas.<\/span><\/h5>\n
The initiatives we regularly launch to make production and consumption at DFI-Geisler more sustainable are evident in our CO2<\/sub> balance.<\/span><\/h5>\n
Since 2018, we have been documenting our CO2<\/sub> emissions every year.<\/span><\/h5>\n

Overall goal: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n
At group level, Ballingsl\u00f6v has an aim to reduce the overall carbon footprint in 2022 by 40% compared to 2018. The ambition is then to halve the group\u2019s footprint by 2030 compared to 2022.<\/span><\/h5>\n
With the initiatives we are introducing on Mors, we expect to exceed these group targets.<\/span><\/h5>\n
To give reduction of our carbon footprint an extra boost, we are helping plant trees. We plant at least one new tree for each solid wood worktop we manufacture. And that amounts to a lot \u2026 Since 2018, we have been documenting our CO2<\/sub> emissions every year.<\/span><\/h5>\n

Overall goal: Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels.<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n
Companies and individuals alike must behave decently and treat other people fairly and respectfully.<\/span><\/h5>\n
To this end, DFI-Geisler has drawn up a Code of Conduct, which describes in detail how we and our suppliers should act in a variety of areas.<\/span><\/h5>\n
We also randomly select some of these suppliers for further audits by a third party. And there is no mercy: if you don’t comply with the agreed Code of Conduct, your partnership with DFI-Geisler is over.<\/span><\/h5>\n
