We have planted the first company tree on Mors<\/span><\/h3>\n

As a company, we have a responsibility to give back to nature each time we use something from nature in our products.<\/span><\/h5>\n
This is the reason behind planting our local DFI-GEISLER company forest.
\nThis is a deciduous forest of 33,500 trees across approximately 9 hectares.<\/span><\/h5>\n
The idea behind the forest arose after we decided some years ago to plant a tree for every wooden worktop we sold. We started in Khasi Hills, India.<\/span><\/h5>\n
But we wanted to try doing it locally.
\nTo benefit the area that we call home,
\nnamely an island in the Limfjord called Mors!
\n… and we succeeded <\/span><\/h5>\n

Water recycling<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In June 2020, we began using our new water recycling facility. The system includes a buffer tank with a capacity of 17,000 litres. This means that, in the future, we will be able to recycle water equivalent to the annual consumption of 100 households.<\/span><\/h5>\n
Our aim is to reduce the water consumption of the cutting tools in our stone department by at least 80%. This will not merely benefit the environment; it will have a favourable impact on our bottom line. Did anyone say \u201cwin-win\u201d?<\/span><\/h5>\n

Recycling is common sense<\/span><\/h3>\n

DFI-Geisler produces around 60,000 laminate worktop sets a year. All materials left over from production are sent to Djursland, where Kronospan \u2013 Novopan Tr\u00e6industri converts the waste to new chipboard. This is then returned to us on Mors to be made into new worktops. And so on \u2026 and so on \u2026<\/span><\/h5>\n
Today, we use and recycle almost all our timber waste. Thus, eight out of ten DFI-Geisler laminate worktops have \u201clived a former life\u201d.<\/span><\/h5>\n

Greener worktops<\/span><\/h3>\n

DFI-Geisler was the first company in Denmark exclusively to use FSC\u00ae-certified chipboard in laminate worktop production. And since we manufacture almost 60,000 worktop sets a year, this is a huge step towards even more sustainable and transparent production.<\/span><\/h5>\n
Besides our laminate worktops, our solid wood worktops are also FSC\u00ae-certified. Thus, we help protect our nature and ensure social conditions in the forests from which the timber is sourced.<\/span><\/h5>\n

7,000 trees in the Khasi Hills<\/span><\/h3>\n

Together with WeForest, DFI-Geisler has planted 7,000 trees in India\u2019s Khasi Hills. The many trees absorb CO2<\/sub> and increase biodiversity.<\/span><\/h5>\n
In addition to restoring natural woodland, the project aims to create a more sustainable way of life and economy for the local population. In other words, the 7,000 trees promote biodiversity in the region, enabling Khasi as a whole to flourish.<\/span><\/h5>\n

20,000 new trees on Mors<\/span><\/h3>\n

At DFI-Geisler, we are wholly dependent on materials we receive from nature. This is why we want to give something back.<\/span><\/h5>\n
More specifically, we plan to plant a completely new forest of 20,000 trees on the Danish island of Mors. This will be good for the nature on Mors but will also reduce DFI-Geisler\u2019s total carbon footprint.<\/span><\/h5>\n
